Tristan Orpin


Tristan Orpin holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Cradle Genomics. He has 30 years of life science management experience across several companies including Illumina, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President of Clinical Genomics. He also held executive positions at Sequenom and Bio-Rad Laboratories.


Tristan received his BSc in genetics and biochemistry with honours from the University of Melbourne.


Randy Armant, PhD


Dr. Randy Armant, a founder of Cradle Genomics, is Vice President of Research at the company and a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University. He received his PhD in developmental biology and biochemistry from Virginia Tech.


Dr. Armant has 35 years of experience in the field of reproductive biology, during which he was a principal investigator for NIH- and industry-sponsored research grants and an author of more than 120 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Patents for the technology used by Cradle Genomics list Dr. Armant as an inventor.


Richard Shippy


Richard Shippy, a founder of Cradle Genomics, is the Vice President of Commercial at the company and has 18 years of marketing experience in the biotechnology industry. Formerly he was the Senior Director of Strategic Product Marketing in Reproductive and Genetic Health at Illumina, with prior management positions in Clinical Market Development at Affymetrix and GE Healthcare.


Richard received his MSc in biochemistry  from Northern Illinois University.


Jeff Eidel


Jeff Eidel holds the position of Chief Operations Officer at Cradle Genomics. Prior to joining the company in July 2019, Jeff was the Head of Corporate & Business Development at Illumina, Inc.  Jeff joined Illumina in 2006 and held various Finance, Commercial and Corporate & Business Development leadership roles within the company, as well as serving as the General Manager of Illumina’s Madison, Wisconsin site after Illumina's acquisition of Epicentre Biotechnologies.  Prior to joining Illumina, Jeff worked at KPMG LLP, Corillian Corporation and Inovio Pharmaceuticals. 


Jeff graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in Finance and Accounting.


Tanya Moreno, PhD


Dr. Tanya Moreno has over 13 years of experience as an executive scientist in diagnostics development and the commercialization of genomic tests. She has led development programs for numerous advanced genomic tools that empower patients and physicians to make informed decisions based on an individual’s genetics. Dr. Moreno joined Cradle in March, 2020, and is the Vice President of Development.


Dr. Moreno earned her Ph.D. in molecular genetics and developmental biology at the California Institute of Technology and received her postdoctoral training at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies.


Sue Gross, MD


Dr. Gross has had a distinguished clinical career with roles at Montefiore Einstein where she was Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Genetics; Natera where she was Chief Medical Officer; and most recently at Mount Sinai Hospital and Sema4 where she was the Medical Director for the Reproductive Lab and Clinical Analysis Division. She is double board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Medical Genetics. Dr. Gross has served on national and international guideline committees and has lectured and published extensively on prenatal screening and genetic testing, with a focus on new technologies and public health policy.
